SERVICE PROGRAMS
The Rainforest Rescue Teams (RRT) are the newest
and
only way to get to know and help preserve the wonderful National Parks of Costa
Rica through a very different approach: Service Programs. |
|
Groups or individuals now have the opportunity to be involved with
conservation efforts in Costa Rica's National System of Protected Areas. Contributions
cover a wide variety of activities, from simple tasks to specialized activities arranged
for advanced student groups. At the same time, RRT!'s members can enjoy the natural
beauties of this country while traveling in an all-inclusive, guided package in one or
more extensions from a list of four to be chosen from. |
In coordination with
ASVO (Association of Volunteers for Service in Protected Areas), and other
non-government and non-profit organizations and foundations, Best
Adventures Travel created the Rainforest Rescue Teams, the only Service Programs in Costa
Rica specifically designed for organized groups to assist the conservation efforts in one
of our National Parks or Wildlife Preserves. It is possible now to contribute
directly in the field to the preservation of the rainforest as a legacy for future
generations. Service includes work in infrastructure, trail
maintenance, patrol, attention to visitors and ecology projects.
Though it was specially designed for foreign
students, any organized group can participate as an RRT!, such as associations,
educational or private institutions, environmental groups or clubs or any other persons
interested.
Extensions at the end of each program, to some of
the most popular sites and attractions in Costa Rica, reward the effort and enthusiasm
with a well deserved all-inclusive vacation from four different plans to choose from!

SPECIAL OLIVE RIDLEY SEA TURTLE CONSERVATION PROGRAMS!
Our new RRT Programs in Ostional Wildlife Refuge, Punta Judas
Bilogical Station and other zones of Costa Rica allow participants to contribute to the
conservation of these endangered and fascinating reptiles by collecting data on arriving
females, eggs layed, and emerging hatchlings! |
|
EXTENSIONS
The post-program extensions will
compensate the hard work with some relaxation, fun and enjoyment time, in one or more of
Costa Rica's most famous tourist attractions, including beaches, volcanoes and forests. All the extensions are 3-day two-night, all-inclusive guided packages plus one
final night in San Jose with shopping time and a special farewell diner including typical
live music and dances! There are four destinations to choose from, according to the
group's taste or to add some diversity after the service program:
MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST
Visiting one of the most fascinating tropical
environments: the cloud forest, in the highlands of Tilaran Mountain Range. Includes
guided visits to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, the Hummingbird Gallery, Butterfly
Education Center and Skytrek, a system of suspended cables through and above canopy level. |
ARENAL VOLCANO
This exciting adventure involves the breathtaking
views of the common explosions and lava flows of Costa Rica's most active volcano: Arenal.
Includes also visits to the famous Tabacon Hot Springs, Arenal Volcano National Park and
exciting Class III white water rafting on the Peņas Blancas River. |
CENTRAL PACIFIC
Organized on an exclusive resort with some of the most beautiful
white sand beaches in Costa Rica, this extension includes a crocodile and wildlife boat
safari on the Grande de Tarcoles River, plus enough ocean, sand and sun in a beautiful
forested framework with exotic wildlife. |
CARIBBEAN EXTENSION
The painteresque Costa Rican Caribbean Coast is
full of traditions and cultural mixtures. Stay in a beachfront hotel and participate on an
Afro-Caribbean night featuring local food, hair braiding, traditions and live calypso
music. Plenty of water and sun and great snorkeling! |
